We wanted our community members to swap and share second hand goods but didn’t want them wasting their busy day waiting in line at the post office. So we decided to give the parcel delivery business a crack.
Some smart technology to streamline your shipping, a few important partnerships with existing courier infrastructure and bucket-loads of hard luck later and voila! - we’d built a delivery service that was simple, reliable and affordable.
From humble beginnings come great things. Since 2014, we’ve delivered mountains of parcels (door-to-door), made our debut in the USA (woo hoo!), and helped the million small businesses (and counting) that have joined Sendle to grow and achieve their dreams.
Every parcel we’ve ever delivered has been done so 100% carbon neutrally. Yep, Sendle has offset 34 billion kilometers (21 billion miles) of carbon since we got started - that’s equivalent to driving a 1 tonne truck from deeper into space than the Voyager probe!
Our mission is to bring ‘Shipping that’s good for the world’ to small businesses around the globe. We can already see green shoots and that excites us!
When you decide to send your parcels with us, you’ll join a community of climate change champions (called Sendlers) and get to have a say on the awe-inspiring environmental projects we support all over the world.
Who’d have thought a bunch of local Dads from Australia could cut it in the global shipping world, right? But with the help of some very clever cookies, cutting edge technology and good old fashioned ingenuity, we’ve now proved that it is possible to have affordable and sustainable shipping at the same time.
As the world continues to innovate in bold and exciting ways, so do we. Watch this space!
This is how far our parcels have traveled since Sendle has started. And, every single kilometer has been 100% carbon neutral.
